EMC and NetApp partnered with VMware and Cisco provide fuel for cloud focusing towards organizations with validated design from EMC, called as Vblock, and NetApp, called FlexPod. These solutions fit into the environment where customer looks for ease-of-all - design, acquire and implementation of the solution.
Cisco with UCS and family of Nexus and MDS switches focus on computing and network layer of the total infrastructure while the OS / Application layer is being backed up by Vmware with its hypervisor. When comes to storage layer - the option rolls around vblock and FlexPod architecture.
Both models have created enough room for Vmware, Cisco UCS, MDS, NetApp FAS and EMC VNX / VNXe technologies for Network, System and Storage administrators in service provider space.
